Europe Day 7: Paris to Cape Town
The End
That’s it. With a flight back to CT, the #formaltravelarchive is done for this Euro-gram trip of 2022.
All of this took place been July and August, with six train days between leaving Loviśte and arriving to Paris. While being “home” with the family was the big highlight after the pandemic years, the train journey (thanks @interraileu) was an adventure I was so happy to experience. Before setting out from CT, I had been nervous about all the things that could go wrong on this trip in so many different locations. Especially after having made a daily routine in one place for three years. But it all worked out, and it felt like an accomplishment. I do recognise that I had the privilege to be able to do such a trip.
It has been interesting to go back curate the images and memories, after arriving home. While travelling, I wanted to be present. My mom planted the seed in my head of writing about the experience when I shared the stories of the Split to Zagreb train. I have always felt inclined towards documenting certain events in life, and this little post-trip social media archive build made accountable to do it (instead of a long photo roll or a shoebox full of trip memorabilia). Now I feel like I have lived the trip a second time around, and packaged the experience reasonably so that I can go back and revisit the highlights in the future.
For those of you who swiped through the photos and read these extra long captions, thank you for browsing the archive.
